We’re currently searching for an Accounting Assistant to join our growing team!

The Accounting Assistant provides A/P and A/R services and support within Pharma Medica Research Inc (PMRI). Preparation of all necessary monthly accounting reports for the Director of Finance. Position reports to the Director of Finance and/or designate

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for maintaining, recording, and correlating supply requisition and packing slips with invoices. Following up on any discrepancies in invoices with the Purchasing Department prior to forwarding for payment approval.
  • Be a 100% back-up to the Accounts Payable Associate and Purchasing Department.
  • Responsible for issuing supplier purchase orders and following up on outstanding orders.
  • Responsible for maintaining item and price records in both accounting module and supply requisition forms.
  • Responsible for updating PMRI service contracts records.
  • Responsible for keeping PMRI contractors WSIB Clearance Certificates current.
  • Responsible for processing credit applications for new vendors.
  • Assist other departments in various inquiries.
  • Prepare documents for the fiscal year end audit.
  • Responsible for data entry for scientific research and experimental development tax credits.
  • Prepare vendor spending analysis requests as needed.
  • Other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Enrolled in formal accounting program such as the CGA and/or equivalent work experience.
  • 2-4 years’ experience in accounts receivable/payable or accounting position.
  • Requiring minimal day to day supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
